Course Overview

Projects-based BIM Revit Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) Modelling Training will impart the knowledge and skills for aspiring and existing professionals in the Built Environment to create air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) Building Information Modelling (BIM) models and detail drawings in Revit.

This is a course tailored for Built Environment professionals who are required to create ACMV models and shop drawings in Revit, thus enabling them to participate and build on the digital database of a construction project.

Course Curriculum

  • LO1: Read and visualise ACMV equipment, systems, and technical drawings

  • LO2: Create a new ACMV model by linking Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other reference BIM models using mechanical templates

  • LO3: Acquire coordinates and set up grids and levels by copy monitor

  • LO4: Manage visibility graphic overrides for ACMV model

  • LO5: Establish mechanical settings for ducts, properties, and routing preference based on the required specification

  • LO6: Load, place, and modify mechanical equipment and air terminal based on the required specification and location

  • LO7: Create and modify ducting layout based on the required specification and routing

  • LO8: Conduct checks and testing of ACMV systems

  • LO9: Create a parametric Air Handling Unit (AHU) with connectors based on the required dimension

  • LO10: Generate a schedule of Mechanical equipment for technical specification purposes

  • LO11: Generate customized tagging of ducts for specification purposes

  • LO12: Create 2D and 3D ACMV views from BIM model in accordance with the Code of Practice for BIM e-Submission for Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Requirements

  • LO13: Place ACMV layout in Title Block

Entry Requirements

  • Recommended for individuals with at least a Diploma in relevant course of study (i.e. engineering or architecture)

  • English language proficiency at GCE ‘O’ level of C6 and above, or WSQ Workplace Literacy skills of Level 6 and above.

  • Possess basic information and communication technology (ICT) skills

  • Learners who do not qualify in terms of education but have the relevant working experience will be admitted on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by our management.
