Creating an IFC-SG Model from OpenBuildings for CORENET X Submission

This course will impart the knowledge and skills for Built Environment professionals to export their Bentley OpenBuildings model to IFC-SG for a CORENET X submission

Course Overview

This course will impart the knowledge and skills for Built Environment professionals to prepare their OpenBuildings model for CORENET X submission. The course provides learners with an overview of CORENET X, navigate learners through the IFC-SG starter kit, and trains them to use the starter kit in a step-by-step process to export their BIM model in OpenBuildings to IFC-SG.

Course Curriculum

LO1. Identify the transformational benefits of CORENET X to the industry
LO2. Explain the purpose of all files within the IFC-SG starter kit
LO3. Extract the relevant information from IFC-SG mapping table for submissions to various authorities
LO4. Apply IFC-SG configuration file to existing WorkSpace and Workset
LO5. Embed relevant IFC-SG definition into an OpenBuilding model
LO6. Add values to Object’s Entity and Properties
LO7. Check IFC-SG parameter information with schedules from OpenBuildings
LO8. Check and modify georeferencing of existing model to meet requirements for CORENET X submission
LO9. Export an OpenBuilding model to IFC-SG
LO10. Check IFC-SG model in BIMvision
LO11. Add and assign UserDefined Psets and modify Properties
LO12. Modify the IFC configuration files

There is no assessment conducted for this course. Learners who meet the Course Completion Requirements will be accorded a Certificate of Completion by Ace Industrial Academy.

Entry Requirements

English language proficiency at GCE ‘O’ level of C6 and above, or WSQ Workplace Literacy skills of Level 6 and above.
Completed Projects-based BIM OpenBuildings Designer Training or equivalent.
